St. Louis Montfort was born on 31st January 1673 in a small town called Montfort in France. He loved the young, irrespective of their religion or economic status and looked upon them as “angels”. Throughout his life he worked ceaselessly for the abandoned, marginalized and the sick and for the cause of Education.
He preached the “Wisdom of God”, manifested and embodied in Jesus Christ. He advised a sure path to God, through Mary, the Mother of Christ. He established the organization, “Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel” to carry on his mission on earth.
True to the spirit of Montfort’s mission, the Brothers of St. Gabriel have established many well-known educational Institutions all over the world. There are many Institutions for the poor and the differently abled also under the care of the Montfort Brothers.
Montfort died at an early age of 43, on 28th April 1716.
The people acclaimed him a “Saint” and the Church canonized him on 20th July 1947. The flame lit by this holy man continues to glow and shine with greater intensity even after 300 years. Wisdom Montfort International School aims at shaping and moulding numerous young men and women as dreamt by St.Louis Grignion de Montfort, our Leader and Inspiration.
Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel are called upon to walk the same road that Montfort trod. He was a great visionary, educationist and friend of children and the youth. You too are invited to become part of this heritage.
“Pray with great confidence, with confidence based on the goodness and infinite generosity of God and upon the promises of Jesus Christ. God is a spring of living water which flows unceasingly into the hearts of those who pray”
-St. Louis Marie de Montfort
